I am passionate about delivering high quality swimming lessons in small groups. My aim is to get your child(ren) to swim to the best of their ability in a safe, fun and enthusiastic environment.
I want your child(ren) to eagerly look forward to each weeks lesson. Swimming Lessons should be a big highlight in your childs week! Please take a look the Testimonial page to see the feedback I have received.
To maintain quality, groups will not exceed four swimmers.
Unusually for a Private Swimming Instructor I have qualifications to both Teach and Coach swimming, holding both ASA Swimming Teacher and ASA Club Coach qualifications. I believe this, and the broad breadth of my experience teaching other subjects gives me a greater appreciation of what it takes to develop physical skills and, perhaps even more importantly, how to make it Fun!
I have been teaching and coaching swimming for over twenty five years; teaching small group lessons for over twenty. I have a vast experience teaching swimming to Primary age children in both the Private and State sector. My other previous experience includes Coaching for Competitive Swimming Clubs (children and young adults) also for Competitive Triathlon Clubs.
During the day I am a part time PE/Games and Swim Teacher at St Paul’s Cathedral School. Half of my teaching time there is spent working with Pre-Prep children developing their fundamental movement skills as well as preparing them for the competitive sports that I teach in the Upper School.
My favourite thing to do, other than teaching, is Cycling. I suppose I should say swimming but I spend plenty of time around a swimming pool. I still do swim of course.
My love of Cycling and Swimming seemed to inevitably end up with the addition of Running. The natural progression from there was have a go at Olympic Distance Triathlon (1.6k Swim-40K Bike-10k Run). I approached that the way I like to teach swimming lessons, I wanted it to be fun and it was. I decided that was not quite enough fun, so I moved onto IRONMAN Triathlons (3.9k Swim-180.2k Bike-42.2k Run). And, I say this seriously, it was so much more fun.
My other half decided to add to the fun and booked me in for the Alcatraz Challenge. This had me swimming from Alcatraz Prison to the San Fransico shoreline. It was the most enjoyable and exhilirating swim of my life, I thoroughly reccomend it!
Hope to see you in the pool soon!
